Internet Cafe Officially Launches at Bilston Town Hall

The Internet Café and Community Cookbook ‘A Taste of Bilston’ launched on 25th November at Bilston Town Hall. This vibrant event featured musical performances from local artists Alex Jackson, Priscilla Cameron and International Reggae artist Macka B who sang “A wah Me Eat”. This tied wonderfully with the healthy food theme with tasting sessions featuring recipes from the Cookbook and raw food demonstrations by Wellbeing and RAW Food Chef & Coach, Lorraine Palmer.

'Excellent! Great day, great people, great programme! The new cafe is lovely'

The Internet Café is a great asset to Bilston, with a fresh breath of Bilston history through interior furniture and design. It is open to all members of the local community, the Internet Café giving users the opportunity to get online, learn new skills and eventually return to employment. Under the Working Together programme staff can support with on line job searches and give advice on application forms and CVs. In addition, Gazebo Theatre provides individualised holistic and creative mentoring sessions for people facing barriers to entering the work place. This can be anything from drama and arts therapy to confidence building, and counselling. Gazebo can also offer volunteering opportunities to help unemployed people get ready for work.

'As a former resident of Bilston, we both think this project is fantastic. We seriously believe that all areas should help community spirit i.e Unemployed, lonely etc. the lady Tonia is just the person to lead the way...Best Wishes'

'An amazing set up, covering a lot of areas to support the unemployed. Very helpful and friendly staff. Cafe is outstanding, very welcoming'
